Excerpt:
“Addy, I’m home!” Hadley called from inside the apartment door, dropping her keys on the table at the same time. “Oh god damn, what smells rank?” She curled her nose and when that didn’t work, she lifted her hand and pinched her nostrils closed.
“It's not that bad. Haven't you ever had ham and bean soup before?” Addison walked around the corner from the kitchen, her fingers playing in the ends of her long hair. Her freckled cheeks were flushed. But that wasn’t what caught Hadley’s attention. The barely-there robe was slipping off the creamy white shoulder of her woman. By the looks of it, the robe was the only thing she had on.
"I think I'd remember that. It smells like feet," Hadley complained.
"Try it. If you don't like it, I'll order you a pizza," Addison said.
Hadley reached for her. The grin on her face was full of wicked intent. “How bout I have you for dinner and then I have pizza for a midnight snack?” Her hands slid down Addison’s back to squeeze her ass.
“Oh no you don’t. You’re not ruining my soup.” Addison rose up on her toes and leaned into Hadley.
“Aw, baby. It smells like it’s already ruined.” Hadley laughed. “And it looks like you were hoping for some attention.” She slid her fingers along the edge of Addison’s robe.
“Mean!” Her lover pulled away and flounced off in a flurry of red hair.
Hadley only laughed harder. “I take it that’s a no?”
She couldn’t even pretend to like it. They lit a dozen scented candles and ordered a pizza. While Hadley ate her delivered dinner, Addison got the remaining bean soup into the refrigerator to take to the homeless shelter the next day.
