#Featured #Author Nora Phoenix - No Filter #MM #Romance

I distinctly remember reading my first MM romance. I’d been reading romances since I was maybe thirteen, started out with ‘borrowing’ my mom’s Harlequins without her noticing. I never stopped reading them after that, but after almost thirty years, the MF genre was getting a bit on my nerves. I started reading in different subgenres: paranormal, extra kink, you name it. It was good, but still… I even wrote MF myself, but it never completely satisfied, somehow. Something was missing.
Then I stumbled across my first MM, and boy, I was hooked. A whole new world opened up for me, and I loved it. I’d only read maybe ten MM books when an idea came to me for a book. A young man, on the run for his mobster ex, falling in love with another man unexpectedly. I started writing, completely entranced. One book became two, then three, and ultimately four. The No Shame Series was born, and with it the story of Indy, Noah, and Josh.
In the meantime, I read like crazy, and I discovered so many awesome books in this genre—and all subgenres. I read it all: paranormal, shifters, mpreg, BDSM, the heavier stuff, anything—as long as it’s well written and has a happy end.
Those four books are now getting published, one month apart. No Filter is the first book, and we meet Indy, our man on the run. He encounters Noah and Noah’s best friend-with-benefits Josh, and all of a sudden Indy’s urge to keep running is competing with the desire to stay. But his ex won’t stop looking for him, so staying will not only endanger himself, but Noah and Josh as well.
No Filter is a bit of a different book, because I’m flirting with some tropes. It’s close to a ménage, but not quite, and not everything gets solved and fixed in the first book. It has a happy-for-now, sort of, but Indy’s story continues in all three following books, where we’ll also meet new couples. If you like your MM romances steamy, emotional, and are not afraid of a little out-of-the-box kink, the No Shame Series may be right up your alley.
You can find No Filter on Amazon, including on Kindle Unlimited: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075YTF4K2
The next book in the series, No Limits, will be released around November 26th.
Here’s an excerpt:
Dressed in a T-shirt and flannel PJ bottoms, Indy made his way downstairs. Autumn had started, setting the trees in the yard on fire in an explosion of red, orange, and yellow, and bringing cold nights, but downstairs it was comfortably warm. Noah was reading the paper in his usual spot, but Josh was nowhere to be seen.
“Morning,” Indy said, always a bit shy at first when it was only him and Noah.
“Hey. How are you feeling?” Noah never failed to ask Indy this, and it wasn’t just a polite question.
“Good. Haven’t my felt my ribs in two days, so I’m officially pain free.”
Indy grabbed a bowl from the cabinet.
“Perfect. We’ll cut off your cast today. I didn’t think you’d want to do an official hospital visit for that, right?”
Indy shook his head, carefully cutting a banana on a cutting board with one hand and putting it in the bowl. He took yogurt from the fridge. “Not if I can avoid it.”
“Well, you’re lucky you have a highly skilled medical professional at your disposal, who’s willing to do a house visit.”
Indy grinned as he sprinkled crunchy granola on top of his yogurt. “Don’t know about the highly skilled part, but at least he’s free.”
“That hurt.” A smile tugged at the corners of Noah’s mouth. “My price just went up.”
“Double times nothing is still nothing, you do realize that?” Indy took a bite of his breakfast. He loved these verbal matches with Noah almost as much as not having to worry about what to eat for breakfast every day.
“Who says it was free to begin with? I only offered my skilled services, never said they were free.”
“So what’s your price?” Indy asked, expecting Noah to launch another joke.
“I want you for the entire day,” Noah said.
Indy frowned, quickly chewing to empty his mouth. “What do you mean?”
Noah reached out and circled Indy’s good wrist with his right hand, gently pulled until Indy was standing between his legs. “It’s my day off, and Josh has some special therapy session, so he’s gone all day. I want to spend the entire day with you, and you have to do exactly what I tell you.”
